Monti pays personal visit to pope

(ANSA) - Rome, August 27 - Italian Premier Mario Monti on Monday paid a personal visit to Pope Benedict XVI at the papal summer residence at Castel Gandolfo south of Rome. Monti, 69, a professional economist and former European commissioner, is a regular churchgoer.
