Italian soldiers injured in Afghanistan

(ANSA) - Rome, August 27 -One Italian soldier has been wounded and two other suffered minor injuries after an attack Monday morning on their base camp in the area of Bala Boluk in Afghanistan. Authorities say the injuries were caused by flying rocks and soil when a rocket fell inside the base, but didn't explode. A group of 17 civilians, including two women, were shot and beheaded in southern Afghanistan's Helmand province, officials announced Monday. An investigation has been opened into what happened on Sunday, said provincial government spokesman, Daoud Ahmadi. It's believed the group had taken part in celebration that involved music and dancing, triggering Taliban disapproval. Another 10 Afghan soldiers were also killed in separate violence Sunday.
