(ANSA) - Rome, August 27 - Juventus, Inter Milan and Napoli got off to a flying start after the Italian Championship Serie A kicked off at the weekend. But it was a shaky opening for AS Roma and a terrible one for AC Milan, who lost to 1-0 to Sampdoria after bidding farewell to Sweden forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Brazil defender Thiago Silva in pre-season transfers. Elsewhere, Juventus battered Parma 2-0 with the help of Lichtsteiner and Pirlo, after mistakes from Vargas. Inter beat newcomers Pescara 3-0 with goals from Wesley Sneijder, Diego Milito and Brasilian Coutinho. Napoli got off to a triumphant start with a 3-0 victory in Palermo with goals from Hamsik, Maggio and Cavani. While Lazio enjoyed a 1-0 victory over Bergamo-based Atalanta courtesy of a goal by Hernanes, it was an emotional opener for Roma as Zdenek Zeman's team drew 2-2 with Catania. Fiorentina opened the season with a 2-1 win against Udinese, courtesy of two goals from Jovetic. Genoa beat Cagliari 2-0, with second-half goals from Alexander Merkel and Ciro Immobile.
