Palermo, May 3 - Pictures posted on the social network Facebook led to the arrest of four members of an alleged criminal gang in Sicily on Friday by helping police with identification. Investigators compared video surveillance images with photos the men posted on their Facebook profiles. Police said that the gang is suspected of carrying out 10 robberies between March and July 2012. The robbers, who wore expensive designer clothing and carried out heists in the city of Palermo and towns Bagheria, Ficarazzi and Bolognetta always worked with their faces uncovered. In total, police believe that the gang collected over 50,0000 euros through robberies carried out in banks, post offices, supermarkets and jewelers, often using violence and a child accomplice.
